Demuths 3 Day Plant Based, Feel Good Course

With an emphasis on whole foods and nutrition, this course is for those who want learn plant-based cooking that is also free from gluten and refined sugar. This is an additional module of our Vegan Diploma programme but it can also be taken as a stand alone course.

Deciding which course is right for you

Firstly, some questions to ask yourself...

  • Are you newly vegan?
  • Would you consider yourself a confident home cook?
  • Do you have any professional experience?
  • Why are you interested in this course - for enjoyment? With the idea of opening a cafe? To develop a menu for a restaurant?
  • Do you have any dietary requirements beyond vegan?

Our Vegan Diploma programme is designed to take you from complete beginner to an accomplished cook. It may be that you attend all three levels. However as some will have more experience or be looking for different things, it is not necessary to complete each stage.

Is it a recognised qualification?

The course syllabus is aligned to the national qualifications offered by catering colleges but is not a formal qualification. However it is well recognised, and respected, within the vegan community. You will receive a certificate confirming your completion of the course.

Dietary Requirements

All the food produced will be vegan. Prior to starting the course you will be asked to let us know of any other dietary requirements.

Our kitchen is 100% vegan but not gluten- or nut-free. These courses are not suitable for those with severe allergies.

Whilst we can accommodate gluten free and any other requirements you may have (e.g. soya free), please note that the Diploma syllabus is designed to cover all aspects of cooking (teaching certain techniques etc.) and we therefore cannot always guarantee we will be able to adapt each recipe.

In order to teach a comprehensive range of skills, each level includes both sweet and savoury baking, using a variety of flours and sugars.

Please see our 3 day course for gluten-free and refined-sugar free cooking.

Cooking with the seasons

We cook with what is available seasonally so there will be minor differences in the dishes made, depending on what time of year you join us. The fundamental principles and techniques covered remain the same.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the cost of the course. Bath has an abundance of accommodation and there is everything from high-end hotels to budget hostels, all within walking distance of the cookery school.

The Visit Bath website is a good place to start your search.

AirBnB is a good option as having access to basic kitchen facilities throughout the course can be useful (there are usually lots of leftovers to take away with you!)

If you have any questions about accommodation, travel or things to do during your stay in Bath, please do not hesitate to ask - we will be only too happy to help.

Cancellation Policy

Amendments to bookings may be made up to 60 days prior to the start of the course. If you find you are unable to attend a class less than 60 days before the date of the class, we regret that the course fees will only be refunded if we are able to fill your place.

For this reason, we recommend taking out travel insurance in case you have to cancel at short notice.

If through unavoidable circumstances Demuths Cookery School has to cancel a course, all course fees will be refunded in full or if you wish, transferred to another course. We will not refund any other costs you may have incurred in advance, such as travel and accommodation.
