What time does the day start/ finish?

Our day classes start at 10am and finish at around 4.00pm. Half day classes start at 10am and finish at around 2pm. Evening classes start at 6.30pm and finish at around 9pm. Please let us know at the beginning of the class if you need to leave promptly (e.g. to catch a train). We ask that students arrive 10 minutes before the start time.

Do we eat during the class?

As well as tasting throughout the course, all classes finish with a sit down meal of the food prepared. On full day classes, there is an early and a late lunch!

Do we take food home?

There is often some food to take home, so please bring a takeaway container with you. On every course you will receive a recipe pack of all the dishes covered.

What should I bring?

Everything is provided for you. We ask that you bring a container with you for any leftovers. You will be on your feet for a large part of the day and may appreciate comfortable shoes! For those with long hair, please bring something to tie it back.

How many on the course/who comes to the courses?

We take a maximum of 10 people on a course. The day is intended as a relaxed learning experience and we cook and eat together. The courses attract people of all ages and from all walks of life, a mixture of men and women, vegans, vegetarians and non veggies, confident cooks and those less experienced and those just stuck in a rut. Many come on their own, some in pairs or small groups of family and friends. Every day is different.

Most day and evening classes are suitable for students over the age of 13, when accompanied by a paying adult. Students must be at least 16 to attend a class unaccompanied.

About the courses | dietaries | experienced v beginner

Will I be out of my depth as a beginner?

Our recreational courses are designed to be a relaxed learning experience, suitable for a mixture of abilities. Most of our courses cover basics such as knife skills.

The Fast & Delicious collection is great for new vegans or those looking to increase their kitchen confidence. Some of the world cuisine courses use ingredients and methods which are less familiar to many and can be faster paced.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about any of our courses.

Are the courses suitable for experienced cooks?

All our recreational courses are designed to be suitable for mixed abilities. With such a variety of classes, covering different cuisines and skills, we think there is something new and interesting for any confident home cook.

If you wish to take your knowledge to the next level, we have our Vegan Diploma programme.

Do you cater for vegans?

Yes, we are a fully vegan cookery school and all our courses are plant-based.

Do you cater for other dietary requirements?

We are able to cater to most dietary requirements. Please note we are not a gluten or nut free kitchen. You will be asked about your requirements when booking. Whilst most are easily accommodated we will always advise if we feel a certain course would not be suitable. Please do get in touch if you have any specific questions.

How much cooking will I do?

All our classes are a mixture of hands on cooking and demonstration. In light of the COVID-19 restrictions, all cooking is now done individually at solo work stations.
