Chinese Sichuan cooking is full of exciting fragrant flavours and Lydia will show you how easy it is to cook a traditional vegan Sichuan supper.
Sichuan cooking is all about a combination of flavours; hot from chillies, numbing from Sichuan peppers, salty, sour, sweet, bitter and smoky. One dish can contain all these disparate flavours. Each dish has its own style, they say in Sichuan a hundred dishes has a hundred different flavours.
Lydia will teach you all about the essential Chinese store cupboard ingredients and where to buy them.
You will learn a selection of dishes such as:
- Mapo Dou Fou
- Fragrant Spicy Aubergines
- Sichuan Greens with garlic
The evening will be a combination of demonstrations and hands-on cookery. The evening will finish with supper which you will have created. You will be given a pack of recipes so that you can recreate the dishes at home.
