Demos & Dips at Hartley Farm

I was at Hartley Farm Shop and Cafe yesterday for a demonstration with their market gardener Kate Collyns. What a fantastic place for a visit. Kate has three polytunnels at the farm where show grows tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, plus a large field for the hardy vegetables.

Very impressive Runner beans and Sunflowers on the allotments.

The farm also a beautiful cutting flower garden edged by a wild flower meadow, free range chickens, well kept allotments and, of course, an exceptional farm shop and café. And for those with small children, they have an exclusive "Little Hartley Farm" with it’s own café and play area.

Farm Shop vegetables

Yesterday we showcased Kate’s vegetables: ridge cucumbers, black, green & white French beans and crisp green peppers to dip in a striking pink Beetroot Tzatziki and a Salsa Verde made with basil, parsley and coriander, topped with Zataar for a little extra spice.
