As vegetarian specialists, Demuths Cookery School is founded on understanding the importance of using vegetables, fruits and fresh produce. All of the schools courses use best quality and seasonal produce which, whenever possible, is locally sourced and organic. Part of the ongoing commitment to using locally sourced seasonal produce is the schools close relationship with our growers:
The Eades family are third generational market gardeners and are based in Bath. They supplied Demuths Resturant for two decades and the cookery school since its start. They pick their vegetables at first light and we cook on the same day. Completely fresh and always seasonal.
They specialise on growing the unusual and we love their wild flower, herb and salad mixes.
Our cold pressed rapeseed oil is grown and milled on a family farm two miles from Bath.
Local Somerset Apple juice made from traditional apple varieties is served on all our cookery courses.
We have chosen Homewood Ewes cheeses, as they are local, vegetarian and delicious. Our favourites are their haloumi, feta and ricotta style cheeses.
All our flours come from Doves Farm, they are organic, very consistent and they also blend the best range of gluten free flours.
Our milk comes from Somerset organic Jersey cows and is unhomegenised, so has the layer of cream on the top like it did in the old days!
A father and daughter team who proudly make a scrumptious full bodied craft cider using classic Somerset apple varieties and traditional techniques.
